We made it, friend—the season one finale of The Balanced Badass Podcast™! Can you believe we’re already wrapping up 2024? This episode is gonna get into the highs, the lows, and the what the hell was I even thinking? moments from this year.
We’re reflecting on what worked, what didn’t, and what we need to let go of so we’re not dragging the same chaos into 2025. I’m also walking you through my end-of-year audit and showing you how to set goals that actually fit where life is taking you.
If you’re ready to clear the clutter, focus on what really matters, and crush 2025 with confidence, this one’s for you. Oh, and don’t forget to check out my free 7 Days to Crushing Your Goals email mini-course for even more guidance.
Let’s close out this year like the badasses we are. See you next year!
Before we jump into planning for 2025, we have to pause and reflect on 2024.
The truth is, you can’t move forward if you’re still weighed down by the past.
I like to call this process my end-of-year audit. It’s simple but powerful, and it starts with three questions:
- What went really well this year?
- What absolutely didn’t work?
- What do I need to let go of to move forward?
When I sat down with these questions, here’s what I found:
Lesson One: Lean on Your Support Squad
This year reminded me that people genuinely want to help, you just have to let them.
For me, that meant accepting my husband’s support so I could leave a toxic work environment and focus on building my business. It also meant saying “yes” when a friend offered to hold me accountable.
If you’re someone who struggles to accept help, let me be the friend who says: It’s okay to lean on others.
Start small. Say yes to one offer of help this week.
Lesson Two: Embrace Curiosity Over Perfection
Not everything you try will work out, but that’s okay.
I pitched myself for scary opportunities, took classes that pushed me, and even joined a dance class with women 20 years older than me.
Each messy, uncomfortable step helped me rebuild my confidence.
Your challenge? Do one thing this week that makes you just a little uncomfortable. Sign up for that class. Ask the question you’ve been holding back.
Messy action counts.
Lesson Three: Trust the Process
Some of the most important work I did this year didn’t come with instant wins, but I stayed aligned with my passions and trusted my gut.
If you’re working on something that doesn’t feel like it’s paying off yet, write down why it matters to you. Keep that reminder somewhere you can see it daily.
Trust me, progress is happening—even if you can’t see it yet.
Planning for 2025 with the DREAMS Framework™
After reflecting on this year, I’m shifting gears to 2025 with a fresh focus. My secret weapon? The DREAMS Framework™:
- Define Your Why: What drives you? For me, it’s about helping others tackle burnout and living a healthier, more energized life so I can show up for the people who matter most.
- Recognize Your Strengths: Focus on what you’re already good at. I’m leaning into my skills as a communicator and planner to facilitate quarterly workshops and build routines that stick.
- Envision Your Outcomes: Picture success. Visualization isn’t just feel-good, it’s backed by neuroscience. I imagine myself leading impactful workshops, waking up energized, and sharing meaningful moments with friends and family.
- Act Decisively: Start small. For me, that meant scheduling yoga classes, pitching my first Q1 workshop, and texting friends to reconnect. What’s your first step?
- Measure Your Progress: Keep track of what’s working. I use Notion to log my wins, habits, and goals. Progress doesn’t have to be fancy, just consistent.
- Seek Accountability: Goals are easier with support. I check in with my mentor, partner, and friends to stay on track. Find someone who will cheer you on (and lovingly call you out when needed).
Let’s Do This Together
Friend, 2025 is an opportunity, a chance to align your goals with who you are and where you want to go. But remember, goals don’t have to be rigid or perfect. Life happens, and it’s okay to adapt.
The magic is in showing up, trying, and trusting yourself.
